Wish granted.

I was ready to kiss the beaches goodbye this year. I no longer find myself surrounded by lake Michigan, which is slightly depressing.
BUT it just so happens that last week we went back to my home town, Manitowoc! We not only were able to see lots of friends, whom I miss greatly, but we also frolicked on the beach for the majority of the weekend. It was beautiful.
But that wasn't all. This past weekend a group of us went to the dunes, also on the tip of Lake Michigan. It was the perfect day to drive there. The beach was gorgeous, the water was perfect, and the sand dunes were awesome. Seriously, it was perfect. Oh yes, there was also a National Kite Flying Competition going on. Who knew? But it was pretty impressive.

Summer is only summer with beaches, the sun, and water.

Lists.

Things I am currently active in:

  • work has taken up a large chuck of my life. Needless to say, I enjoy it thoroughly and wouldn't have it any other way.
  • I am watching the World Cup as much as possible. So far they have been extremely good and no major upsets. I am thrilled about the tie with England. And I definitely will take the goal USA had.
  • When time allows, I bask in the sun and play in the neighborhood pool. Unfortunately time doesn't allow it too often. Bummer. I was really looking forward to a nice tan.
  • Rereading Harry Potter 5, just because. If anyone has suggestions for books to read, please let me know.
  • Driving my new whip.
  • Weekly volleyball and soccer games.
  • Spending lots of time with my man.
  • occasional wedding stuff.
Things I need to be active in:
  • working out on a regular basis. I need motivation or Melinda!
  • finish my applications for purdue and ivy tech. :/ running a little behind. Purdue won't accept my ACT information from mail apparently. It has to be electronically sent. Are you kidding me! They are just trying to suck all of my monies out of me.
  • More wedding stuff.
  • Skyping with lots of friends. I miss them.
  • Finding new musicas.

Wonderful Addition to My Life.

I will begin with a few anticipated goodbyes.
To my previous way of life, I hold no ties.
Goodbye minivan, with your motherly feel.
Goodbye dependence upon my mother's wheels.
Goodbye state of hibernation,
Inflicted by my lack of transportation.
Goodbye, Goodbye,
What is to about come, you cannot deny.

Well, hello dear friend,
I await the many days together we will spend.
Hello blissful freedom,
Sweet as pink, gooey bubble gum.
Hello world, filled with endless possibilities.
Hello numerous liabilities.
Hello gears of ecstasy,
Shifting far from a life of monochromacy.
Hello and welcome,
Let us begin our journey of fun.
